Today’s post is from Carole at Haggard Library:

101 Foods That Could Save Your Life by David Grotts

This fascinating book can vastly expand your food horizons.  It explains the benefits to be derived from old favorites you already eat like grapes, bananas, watermelon and chocolate and introduces foods you probably eat less often, like currants, millet, sardines and kale.

The entry for each food includes facts and lore about it, where it comes from, traditional home remedies it is used for, and its health benefits.  Tips are given on how to select, store, prepare and serve it and a recipe is given.

I like this book so much, I plan to purchase a copy for myself.
